Jia Liu | Executive Director and Producer

Jia is passionate about the art of magic, having performed and produced shows and events for over 20 years both in New Zealand, and overseas. For nearly 20 years, he has been a proud member of the International Brotherhood of Magicians.

Establishing Magic Moments in 2022, he opened New Zealand's only magic themed restaurant and boutique theatre in Dunedin. He also produces national tours around New Zealand, sharing his love of magic with people of all ages. In recent years, Jia has produced and performed in over 100 shows across the country.

Jia is particularly passionate about nurturing the next generation of magicians,actively contributing to the growth and development of the magical community internationally.

Reggie Gavel | Artistic Director and Producer

As an Artistic Director, Producer, and Pianist, Reggie Gavel has worked throughout New Zealand on many creative projects including plays, musical theatre, opera, magic, and variety. Encouraged to study classical piano and drama from a young age, he started performing in theatre, making his professional debut in a production of Hamlet. This soon led to taking a sidestep into directing and producing. He was the Artistic Director For Hawkins Youth Theatre, Producer for Newmarket Stage Co, and also holds a busy freelance schedule. Reggie is also in demand as a vocal coach, music director, and conductor for stage. He has worked with the late Max Cryer, George Henare, Annie Crummer, Helen Medlyn, and many more. In addition, he has written for theatreview, and Broadway World, as well as serving as a NAPTA Judge

Together with Jia Liu, Reggie is committed and passionate about continuing to bring NZ audiences outstanding shows.
